Travel information (from Berlin city centre)

By rail:

S-Bahn route S 1 (Wannsee - Oranienburg) to Oranienburg Station (travel time from Berlin Friedrichstrasse 45 min., runs every 20 minutes)

Regional train RE 5 (Stralsund/Rostock - Neustrelitz - Wünsdorf-Waldstadt/Elsterwerda) to Oranienburg Station (travel time from Berlin Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) 25 minutes, runs hourly)

Regional train RB 12 from Berlin-Lichtenberg and Berlin-Ostkreuz (destination Templin) to Oranienburg Station (travel time 25 minutes, runs hourly)

Regional train RB 20 from Potsdam to Oranienburg Station (travel time 60 minutes, runs hourly)

From the station forecourt take bus no. 804 (destination Malz, departs hourly at 19 minutes past the hour from 8:19 a.m., last bus departs at 5:19 p.m.) or bus no. 821 (11:55 a.m., 1:55 p.m., 2:55 p.m., 3:43 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. destination Tiergarten) to the stop "Gedenkstätte".

Fares according to the VBB schedule of fares, from Berlin Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) or Berlin-Friedrichstrasse fare zone Berlin ABC, from Berlin-Lichtenberg fare zone Berlin BC; tickets are also valid for the bus routes operated by OVG in Oranienburg.

 

By car or coach:
From Berlin take the city motorway A 111 towards Hamburg; at the Oranienburger Kreuz take the A 10 motorway (Berliner Ring) towards Prenzlau as far as the Birkenwerder exit; then take the B 96 road to Oranienburg and follow the signs to the Memorial (“Gedenkstätte”).
